HOW TO MAKE AN ICED FILTERED COFFEE TONIC

An iced filtered coffee tonic otherwise known as a café filtrato tónico, a refreshing drink made with filter coffee and tonic water.

It's super simple to make, and adding a splash of citrus with lime or orange juice balances any bitter notes and adds a natural sweetness. If you're skeptical, give this a try. One sip and you'll be hooked.

What You Need

How To Make

  • Start by filling a chilled glass with 50g of ice cubes leaving enough space for the tonic water, filter coffee, and a slice of lime or orange.
  • Add 75ml tonic water.
  • Brew a Classic Iced Pour Over Coffee, timing it carefully for the best flavour, let it cool on some ice for a minute.
  • Then slowly add 150ml of the iced coffee, to the glass of tonic water.
  • Top with lime or orange juice. Feel free to use other citrus juices like lemon, or grapefruit instead of lime or orange juice.
  • Stir gently to get the full flavour and enjoy.
  • Sip and savour your perfectly crafted Iced Filtered Coffee Tonic

Pro Tip: Fruitier and floral beans like those from East Africa lend themselves very well. Feel free to use a cold brew coffee concentrate instead of a classic iced pour over. The tonic should be your mixer, if you need to fix the drink to your preferences start by adjusting the ratio of tonic to coffee, and finally pour the tonic first so the coffee doesn't bubble over.

This recipe ensures you enjoy a refreshing iced filtered coffee tonic every time, with the perfect mix of tonic water and iced coffee.
